"Specializing in Captive Bred Exotics"

Liz and I have owned animals from the day we met in 2004. At that point in time, I only owned an African Grey Parrot along with a 150 gallon reef tank and Liz owned 2 cats and 1 cockatiel. A small collection compared to now. We found our love for these creatures to grow with time as our relationship did. After a couple of years, we noticed that the exotic animal selection in the Twin Cities was seriously lacking! We soon found our selves traveling across the United States in search of premier pet shops. We also found it hard to purchase or even locate specialized items for our animals. We thought that something had to be done.

We decided to put our dreams in motion and began creating Frozen Tropics, an exotic pet provider in 2006. Our goal is to offer the best captive bred parrots, reptiles, and marine creatures to the pet trade along with those hard to find items you need for their care.

When we travel, we are actually searching for specific species to introduce to our breeding program (parrot, reptile, fish or corals). This gives us a great genetic diversity to ensure healthy offsprings and corals offered no where else in the Twin Cites. This also allows us to get hands on knowledge of these exotic species in their natural habitat along with information from other breeding programs. Knowledge is key to a successful breeding program. This ex[edition in 2004 leads Liz to Hawaii where she observe the natural reefs and later explored lava flows on the Big Island.
